Down And Dirty with The Filthy Fifty 0
On Saturday 30 CrossFitters from CFCCT, The Power Barn and CF Watertown came together and ripped apart The Filthy Fifty. That’s 15,000 repetitions! I would like to thank everyone who participated, brought equipment or helped me get everything squared away for our first of many multi affiliate WOD’s.
Click on the photos to see them full size and stay tuned for more pics, times for all 30 playa’s and the video.

A great turnout! Everyone got down and dirty for the “filthy fifty”! It was a tough one, but worth it – feel much better now that’s it over!! Kudos to everyone who participated – you ALL did a great job! And to Tom – our fearless leader and mentor – you’re the BEST. Well done!
Can we fix the group photo so one of them enlarges? Thanks.
And I guess you guys don’t asterisk for mods?
It was a great time though and we totally appreciated the hospitality and the competition! Thanks again, Tom and everyone! Ya’ll are welcome at our shindig this Fri night. We don’t know what we’re doing yet but we know it will be fun! (Well, not at first, but in retrospect it’s always fun!)
nice job to you Joan! Fun times…
Thanks for having everyone Tom, it was great time & meeting all you guys, and great photos too. Im normally up in wethersfield on weekends so I’ll have to make an attempt to join you guys for the occasionaly sat wod.
Kudos to the women who did the 16kg kettlebell!
Definitely a good time! Thanks for hosting, lets do it again soon!
Thanks Duffy – you were awesome!!
Again, I wanted to thank everyone for coming. Saturday’s workout was designed to be fun for all members of the local CrossFit community. The standards for the workout were on the board and announced before the workout. Everyone was free to scale as needed.
It seems there are questions as to the standards which I tried to make clear before we started. I did present the opportunity for questions to be answered. There was no need or requirement from CFCCT to scale. I’m sorry if there was any confusion. If there is interest in getting together for a repeat I’d be happy to communicate ahead of time and collectively set the standards and mod’s. to level the playing field and ensure that everyone is working to their current level of ability.
It was my sincere hope to host an event where everyone had fun, had an opportunity to make some new CrossFit friends and get in a good workout. If in anyone’s eyes we fell short of that mark I sincerely apologize. This was my first time hosting an event this size. If anyone is disappointed with the experience I offer my apologies. Once again, thanks for coming. We had a great time and look forward to our next event.
Respectfully,
Tom
OOPS
Regarding the group picture,
There are technical difficulties with posting the full size image. It didn’t come from my camera and I am working on that now. In the mean time I’d be happy to email the image to anyone who wants it.
Hey Tom,
Thanks for hosting, we had a great time. It’s always fun to have some new competitors and a different venue … everyone pushes themselves a bit harder.
Larry
How could anybody have been disappointed? We had a great time, Tom. Thanks for hosting the event.
Please email the group picture to: adamjroth@gmail.com
It was also nice to meet everyone. Excellent work.
Tom, email me the photo (and let me know what is happening) as well, I will put it up for you!
No disappointment here! Just happy you invited us. You did a great job, Tom!
I was just wondering about asterisks for mods because that’s the way we do it at CF Watertown. (And I have nobody but myself to blame for those extra 50 Back Extensions! I should learn to look at the board!)
Thanks again, Tom!
I had a awesome time, well till the end of my WOD when I felt like death. It was was a fantastic turn out and I think everyone kicked butt from newbies to seasoned Crossfiters!
to all those who competed on saturday great effort, whether you missed something, or had a question on technique or like myself wore a gas mask, everyone can say that they were smoked afterwards so no matter what everyone has become more fit because of saturday and isn’t that the goal of crossfit to make us more fit, sometimes slacking on form, i believe pat sherwood told me that at my level 1. so lets throw all the bullshit aside and if people have problems lets do it again, were everybody shutsup and scales if you have to don’t be a hero also show technique so there are no questions. overall Tom it was a great day great workout. the filthy 50 if most definitely filthy. we will do it again when we move into our new home and we have more toys, looking forward to have Fabio and John coming on board as trainers. remember if can’t look at yourself in the mirror and say you gave it your all you don’t belong at crossfitcentralct. love joey carta
