What We’re About 3

stack-of-weights-smallNo matter where you are physically, we have a place for you here, and you will improve.  It’s that simple, and in a nutshell, that’s what we’re about.

If you can’t do a pull-up, we have you do assisted pull-ups; if you can’t jump onto a box fifty times, we have you do it thirty times, or twenty times, or five times.  Nobody comes to us able to do everything on the first day. Every group class has people in different stages in it; you will not be the only one who is working hard, no matter what you are doing.

What are we not about?  We don’t think that vomiting is an indicator of a good workout.  We don’t think you should have to go to the hospital from trying to make your body better.  We don’t think you should feel bad about yourself because you aren’t as strong as you could be, or as strong as other people.  We don’t think we are done improving ourselves.  We don’t think that doing an exercise with bad form in order to complete a set is good for you.  We don’t think you shouldn’t ask questions about the programs, or the exercises, or us and our qualifications.  We don’t think everyone not doing CrossFit is an imbecile.

And ultimately, the test of your success in our program is your real life.  We want you to be able to play sports, do yardwork, hoist your kids no matter how old they grow, move that hideous sleeper sofa out of your basement, chop wood, take the stairs instead of the elevator, and yes–even go to the beach.  CrossFit athletes are not just strong in the gym, they’re strong in the real world.  And getting you there is part of what we’re about, too.
